Dog Training Should be Fun
for You
and Your Best Friend
Puppy Preschool
Open to puppies 8 weeks – 16 weeks. MUST show proof of vaccinations.
Develop your puppy into a loving, well mannered family member, and prevent future prtoblems. Topics will include house-training, not jumping on people, preventing destructive chewing, and many other items. This class will also include basic obedience such as walking on leash, sit, down, stay, and come. However, it also allows puppies an opportunity to socialize with other humans and dogs in a safe, controlled way. This helps prevent fear based aggression and many other problems later on in life.
Larger more rambunctious puppies, and “bullies,” may be moved to a class with older dogs.
Basic Good Manners
Topics addressed include leash manners (going for a walk without having your arm yanked out of the socket); “give” (as in, give me what’s in your mouth because my glasses/slippers/wallet/book/whatever are mine and not yours); come when called (even it you are busy digging/chewing/talking to the dog nextdoor/staring at a squirrel/whatever.), and the all-time favorites: down, sit, stay, and “settle.” Individual problem behaviors will be also addressed.
Really Good Manners
We ramp up the difficulty so that your dog leans how to be a good dog even when there are other very interesting things in addition to you that she might rather pay attention to. This class also introduces jumping, retrieving, and some fun tricks. Class content will constantly evolve depending on the desires of the students. This class provides a solid foundation for most dog sports including agility, rally, competition obedience, and more.
Focus Class
Does your dog find EVERYTHING more interesting that you? This class is designed to help handlers develop their dog’s attention to them. This is essential for dog sports such as agility, obedience/rally, freestyle and just to have a well-mannered pet. This class is for dogs who do not have any aggression issues OR have passed Dr. Lore Haug’s “Reactive Dog” class.
Reactive Dog Class
Taught by Dr. Lore Haug, DVM -- veterinary behaviorist

We offer private lessons both in our facilities and in your home. Please make arrangements directly with Rachel Long. at 281-431-5060.
Aggression and Serious Behavior Problems
Most of us dream of owning a perfect dog, who has never met a stranger, and is kind to all other animals. Alas most dogs have annoying behaviors such as pulling on a leash, jumping on people, excessive barking, destructiveness, and other undesirable habits. Rachel Long is available for private behavioral counseling for these, and other problems, on a private appointment basis.
For more serious problems including aggression towards other dogs or people, or extreme fearfulness, we recommend Lore Haug, DVM, MS, Dipl. American College of Veterinary Behaviorists. She is one of the top veterinary behaviorists in the country. Therefore, we are fortunate that she addresses one of the most common behavioral problems in a group class format here on Monday evenings for approved dogs.
This is the "Reactive Dog Class", for dogs who bark, lunge, and become uncontrollable in the presence of other dogs. With Dr. Haug's assistance, and work from you, your nightmare dog can make remarkable improvements, so that you CAN resume walks in the neighborhood, or training for canine sports.
Dr. Haug's classes are by instructor approval only, to keep everyone safe!
